Welcome to Mt. Boucherie Secondary School
As the Principal of Mt. Boucherie Secondary School I’m excited to welcome all students, families, and staff to our vibrant and inclusive school community. At Mt. Boucherie, we are guided by the values of Belonging, Empathy, Achievement, Resiliency, and Safety, our B.E.A.R.S. framework.
This year, we are placing a special emphasis on Empathy and Achievement. These two pillars are central to creating a school culture where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired.
Empathy is the foundation of a caring and respectful school environment. We encourage students to listen actively, understand diverse perspectives, and treat one another with kindness. Through empathy, we build stronger relationships and a deeper sense of community.
Achievement comes in many forms; academic success, personal growth, creative expression, and leadership. We celebrate all efforts and accomplishments, and we support students in setting meaningful goals and striving to reach them.
Our school offers a wide range of programs designed to meet the interests and strengths of all learners. Students can explore and excel in:
- Athletic Academies – supporting skill development, teamwork, and physical wellness
- Fine Arts & Band – fostering creativity, collaboration, and artistic expression
- Applied Skills – offering hands-on learning in areas like technology, trades, and design
- Home Economics – with a strong Fashion & Sewing, Foods and Culinary program, we have many opportunities for students
- Indigenous Education – we have the most Indigenous course offerings for students in SD23, with a year long learning community, and Indigenous Art 10-12 classes.
These diverse pathways reflect our belief that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive in a space where they feel they belong.
To our students: Be curious, courageous, and kind. Your journey is unique, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
To our families: Thank you for your continued partnership. Together, we will make this school year one of connection, growth, and celebration.
Let’s make this year one of purpose, pride, and possibility.
